1. Go for a walk around the block

Going on a morning walk is a great way to start your day. Here are some tricks you can try on your next walk to help keep you in the moment, and to prevent your mind from wandering to your mental todo list.

  • Focus on the beauty around you, take the time to look up at the trees, animals nearby, or something you haven't seen before. It is easy to miss the things around you when we aren't being present.
  • Do a body scan, check in with how you are feeling, go through your body and see how the walk is making your body feel.

2. Practice breathing exercises

Breathe in for 4 seconds, try to expand your stomach and puff out your chest. Hold for 4 seconds. Breathe out for 4 seconds while you mentally release the worry that is being held in your body.
